Ethnic culture is a treasure to an ethnic group both materially and spiritually. It is the production of the collective labor and living experience of an ethnic group over a long period of time. Guizhou is among the few least developed provinces in China. It is the largest residential place of Miao and Dong ethnic groups. Owing to its relatively slow development, Guizhou preserves the two ethnic cultures very well. Translation of these two ethnic cultures can both serve as a better way to transmit the excellent cultures of Miao’s and Dong’s and as a reference to relevant translation practice. This report belongs to the tourism text, which is characteristic of abundant cultural information. Tourism text can be divided into three categories: informative text, vocative text and expressive text. Informative text is centered on the transmission of historic and cultural information. There are many culture-loaded words in this report, such as “dianlaman(batik)”, “langtou( a leader who presides over the meetings of “Yilang”)”. This report first discussed the features of tourism text and the Skopos Theory, then under the guidance of Skopos Theory analyzed the translation tactics like literal translation, free translation and transliteration that could be applied in the classic examples. Finally it came to the conclusion that the combination of those translation tactics is access to the fluency of translation and the propagation of culture.
