This report is based on the translation of "Beautiful Nostalgia:Traditional Chinese Villages" which is one volume in a series of books "Charm of Chinese Architecture".The Chinese edition is published by China Architecture and Building Press aiming to promote the Chinese traditional architectural culture to the target readers.The language style of the architectural culture text is both academic and illustrative.The words in the source text are concise and clear and a large number of culture-loaded words and architectural terminologies are used in the excerpt.The sentence structure is well-organized with logical words.In addition,subtitles are used to separate the contents into different parts according to its meanings,reflecting the characteristics of the architectural culture text.This thesis aims to guide the translation of "Beautiful Nostalgia:Traditional Chinese Villages"(excerpts)by applying the three principles of the Skopos theory:the Skopos rule,the coherence rule and the fidelity rule.Besides,the author also aims to provide some references and guidance for further research in related fields,so as to improve the quality of translation and make some contributions to the output of the traditional Chinese architectural culture through the summary of the translation methods of the architectural culture text.The main contributions of this thesis are demonstrating the feasibility of applying the Skopos theory to guide the translation practice of the architectural culture text and providing some specific translation references for the translation of architectural cultUre text.
