As a country with Chinese being the majority, Singapore has kept Chinese in school education for years. On the other hand, because of the highly opened economic system and multi-cultural society, the official language English is always of higher priority in daily communication. In recent 30 years, however, with the rapid development of China economy, Singapore government has made more efforts on Chinese teaching, which can be reflected by the policies on education. In the meanwhile, more and more foreigntalents, most of which are from China, are coming to Singapore in all areas. The importance of Chinese has therefore increased significantly. As a necessary supplement of school education, private education centers have huge potential in the education market.In this dissertation, running model of private Chinese tuition centers will be discussed based on a typical company named Hua Cheng education center. Questionnaire, random sampled data analysis, Design Of Experiment(DOE) and factorial analysis will be used as the methodology in this study. The advantage and disadvantage of this tuition center will be analyzed by studying teachers’ capability, students’ background, parents’ attitude, materials and teaching tools. Then the opportunities and challenges of this area will be discussed and some recommendations will be provided.In this study, the positive and negative aspects of private Chinese education centers of Singapore can be summarized as below:Positive aspects: market potential, intellectual property protection and education policy support.Negative aspects: variation of students’ background, language environment in family, exam-oriented education and impact of irregular language.Besides, excellence in Chinese heritage has raised new topics for Chinese education in Singapore.
