With the rapid development of the process of internationalization, the mutual connections between all the countries in the world are strengthened day by day. The film and television work has become a more and more important way in cultural dissemination. The studies on movie subtitles translation are becoming popular and more and more researchers pay their attentions to this field.This practice report aims to study the Chinese subtitles of A Bite of ChinaⅡ. It focuses on the Chinese subtitle of Episode Six “Mysterious Land”, Episode Seven “Three Meals” and the first part of Episode Four “Home-made Food” of the Second Season from the documentary “A Bite of China” firstly broadcast in CCTV-1 and CCTV-9 on April 18, 2014.The text type of this translation practice is the subtitle text. Before the translation, the author collected a large number of related information, including the stylistic features of documentary film, the features and the characteristics classification of subtitle translation and so on, and also did some work to classification and sorting the information. For the unique language style of documentary film, translation needs to express the real meaning of the original context statements by the corresponding translation methods, in order to ensure compliance with the original intention of the translation version. As the subtitle translation has the characteristics of time limitation and space limitation which needs translators adopt easy words during the translation process, and to make the audience get the most intuitive information in a short time. It is more convenient to understand the meaning of the commentary. As for the translation process, the author translated the whole text all by herself at first. After the self correction, the work was given to the classmates which are in the same group to correct some detail mistakes and finally it was given to the teacher to do the final review. After modifying the suggestion of classmates and teacher, the author did the final proofreading again in order to ensure the quality of translation of the entire article. As to the problems in the process of translation, the author used auxiliary tools such as cyber source and dictionary to solve. These problems are mainly the method of cooking, minority area characteristic vocabulary and lyrical phrase translation. Some cooking ingredients and cooking methods which are referred in the documentary film are not common in daily life, so there is no fixed relative vocabulary in English. Then it requires the use of some translation methods in the process of translation, such as literal translation, transliteration notes and so on. Some words are simply translated rely on pure transliteration, foreign audiences still cannot understand the true meaning. In this situation, it required both transliteration and annotating the further explanation. Aiming at the present commentary in minority areas of vocabulary characteristics, the author mainly used translation notes. That could be more accurately conveying the real meaning. For some special lyric words and sentences in the commentary of the documentary film, the author uses the omission method in translation. That is more in line with the characteristics of subtitle translation.
