A Practice Report On English-Chinese Consecutive Interpretation Of The China – ASEAN Expo

China- ASEAN Expo is an international meeting focusing on trade and economic cooperation. It contains so many meeting with different topics, and the speeches on those meetings have great effect on the whole world economy. This thesis interprets some meetings of China- ASEAN Expo during 2007 to 2009, which concludes some problems during the interpretations and raises the corresponding solutions. The author hopes that they can be helpful to the interpretation in the future.Through the practice of this English- Chinese consecutive interpretation, the author analyses and concludes all the problems shown, which can be concluded as three aspects. They are the problems of “listening”, “noting” and “expression”. Then the author proposes three corresponding solutions which are information forecast, syntactic linearity, and dynamic context. The author has predicted the information that is not heard clearly with linguistry and non-linguistry. When faced with some rather long sentences, the author cuts them into several sense-groups, and connects the groups naturally with conjunctions. Finally, during the interpretation, the author expresses the meaning of materials completely and correctly combined with different contexts by the method of dynamic context.There are three measures in the thesis concluded through practice, and the author hopes that they can be useful for more interpretations. Meanwhile they all will be the experience of learning and working in the future.
