Simulated Practice Report On Interpretation Of Li Keqiang’s Speech In2013China ASEAN Expo

This report chooses the speech of Li Keqing in2013China ASEAN Expo as the simulated interpreting material, presenting the simulated consecutive interpreting process. The author uses some typical examples in this report in order to analyze the problems in the real interpreting process and suggests some strategies to solve the problems. This interpreting lasts40minutes and the author records the whole process in this report. It is a Chinese speech which includes terms of politics, economics, and cultures and so on. In this report, the author makes an analysis of some specific examples, using some interpreting skills, such as syntactic linearity, conversion, omission, anticipation, taking into consideration of background knowledge, personal state, and consecutive notes under the guidance of Interpretive Theory.This report has six chapters. The first chapter is an introduction of the whole text. Chapter two is the interpretive project description, introducing the start, process and after-process preparation in the interpreting. In Chapter three, it mainly elaborates the analysis of the typical problem in the report. And then the author suggests some strategies to solve these problems, such as omission, the use of syntactic linearity, conversion, and anticipation and so on. The last Chapter presents a summary of the whole text. It presents unsolved problem in the report, limitations of this report and the way to improve the quality of interpreting in the future. The appendix consists of the speech text, terms and translation tools.The report is designed to analyze the problems in the interpreting process and suggest some strategies to solve these problems. Through the simulated interpreting, the author improves the ability on both interpreting theory and interpreting practice.
