A Report On Interview Interpreting For Officials From ASEAN Countries' Tourism Departments In 2016 China-ASEAN Expo Tourism Exhibition

2016 China ASEAN Expo tourism exhibition opened in Guilin,October 20th.The tourism exhibition took the 25th anniversary of china-ASEAN dialogue relations as an opportunity to build an authoritative platform for tourism exhibition,international exchange and trade promoting the tourism cooperation between China and ASEAN nations.On the afternoon of the opening day,the Exclusive Interview for officials from ASEAN countries' Tourism Departments was held at the third Conference Room of Guilin International Convention and Exhibition Center.And during the interview activity,I served as one of the interview interpreters for the representatives of ASEAN countries' Tourism Departments and the media reporters.Hence this interpreting practice report is based on the above media background.Therefore,the author selected interpreting problems and typical cases in the interpreting practice as the study object in this report.The report mainly analyzes errors and pretermission of interpreting,the influence of the southeast-Asian English accent on interpreting,improper expression.as well as intensive information processing.Furthermore,the report makes a summary and improvement methods for this practice:strategies to avoid errors and pretermission of interpreting,how to do better pre-interpretation preparation,analysis of difficult sentences,and how to improve analytical listening with notes.Since this practice is about interview interpreting,the report briefly summarizes the characteristics of interview interpreting and the necessary requirement for interpreters.Without sufficient preparation.advanced skills and flexibility,the quality of interpreting cannot be ensured.This report is an analysis and summary about the interpreting practice in order to give some suggestions on interview interpreting,from which other interpreters may more or less draw inspiration.
