With the relationship between China and Indonesia comes closer, the culture exchange comes more continually, Chinese language become a very important and significant bridge between these two countries. In the recently years, the Chinese language learners in Indonesia especially Makassar City are increasing sharply. But the Chinese language teachers who are teaching in Indonesia come across lots of difficulties, for the reason of their students’ lack of foundations, and also Makassar’s special situation of education and cultural background adds a lot of hardship to Chinese language teachers. So, it’s very necessary to have a research about Makassar Chinese language teaching method. Based on one semester Chinese teaching practical experience and the correlation theories, this paper aims to prove the function of Drama teaching method in learning Chinese, and also complete Drama teaching method in learning Chinese, help more Chinese local teachers(Indonesian), Chinese foreign teachers(Chinese people) to improve the teaching method and also help more students to learn Chinese language as well.The structures of this paper are as follows: the first chapter is introduction of the selected topic; The second chapter is investigation of Indonesia, Makassar City in teaching Chinese; The third chapter analyses the main problems using cooperative learning in Chinese teaching method in Makassar City; The fourth chapter Implementation of Drama method in Chinese teaching practical; The fifth chapter is the conclusion and suggestion part of this paper. Finally, this paper summarises the research and put forward the prospects and limitations about this research.This paper believes that using Drama teaching method students will be more active, happy and have more intense motivation to learn Chinese. Drama method also provides students with the opportunity to learn how to play a direct theater performances/role playing. In addition, classroom management also play an important role. Finally, Drama method will not only improve student achievement, but also increase students’ interest and motivation, and also will improve the teaching quality and teaching ability of the teachers.
