With the increasing exchanges between China and Korea, the Korean learning Chinese and Korean learners of Chinese is getting more and more, the comparative study between Chinese and Korean have drawn more and more attention. Korean and Chinese are the two kinds of the comparability of strong language, although they belong to the Altai language family and the Sino Tibetan language family, but there is a close relationship between the two. In recent years, there are many papers in contrast to the Chinese and Korean vocabulary and grammar, but only do a few people want to discuss the onomatopoeic words. Onomatopoeia is the words which simulate the sound of things action and change, Onomatopoeia can vividly convey the voices that things make to the listeners; it is an indispensable part of language. Chinese and Korean have a lot of Onomatopoeia words, some words are considerably same, but the two languages does not simply imitate the objective voice, also simulate the objective general sound, thus to sum up level is different, the meaning of onomatopoeia is also different, the relationship between the speech form and meaning of onomatopoeia are not similar.This dissertation begins from the comparison of onomatopoeia in Chinese with that in Korean; the detail description is as follows:Chapter one is introduction, this part first explains the purpose and significance of this topic; then explains the ideas and methods of this research; finally, summarizes related literature research. Chapter two introduces the definition and morphological features of Chinese and Korean onomatopoeias, where original sounds of things are described in two languages. The reason why onomatopoeias of two languages are different is mainly due to languages system. Chapter three carries on the analysis of Chinese and Korean onomatopoeic words database, and compares the Chinese and Korean onomatopoeic words. Chapter four compares word formation methods of Chinese and Korean onomatopoeias, onomatopoeia words of Korean and Chinese as morphemes have strong ability of word formation; it can be a noun, a verb and an adjective. Chapter five contrasts the syntactic function of Korean and Chinese Onomatopoetic words, make an analysis of the relationship between languages form and meaning of Chinese and Korean onomatopoeias, finds similar and different points, and sums up some features of Chinese or Korean. It is the wish that hoping to help people with studying Chinese or Korean.
