A Research On The Process Of Translation Project Management And The CAT Application

As the translation industry develops, a new challenge facing the translators is how to improve their translation efficiency to meet the large translation demands and shorter turnaround times. With current translation market conditions in mind, this thesis describes the basic idea of introducing the methodology of project management into translation project with the purpose to improve translation efficiency as well as translation quality.Computer Aided Translation, an important technology that contributes to translation efficiency and quality. Based on two manufacturing enterprises translation projects, this thesis elaborates the functions of Computer Aided Translation covering background information, language style, terminology and efficiency. In addition, on the basis of case study, this thesis elaborates the specific duties of the project manager and brings forward a new universal process of the translation project at the same time.
