A Translation Project Report Of Blueprint For Project Recovery—A Project Management Guide (Chapter One To Three)

This is a project report on the translation of the first three chapters of Blueprint for Project Recovery-A Project Management Guide, written by an experienced project management professional, Ronald B. Cagle. The three chapters are respectively Getting Started, Checking Programmatic Performance and Checking Technical Performance. The book is about how to recover a project after it encounters problems and the three chapters translated focus on how to discover the problems. Translation on Blueprint for Project Recovery-A Project Management Guide is conducted to promote the development of project management in China.Main problems in the translation process are as follows:translation of project management terms, understanding and translation of charts and tables as well as the translation of some long sentences. To achieve a proper translation, many related texts were read, all kinds of materials were searched online and the functional equivalence theory established by Eugene·A·Nida was referred to during the translation process.This report consists of four chapters. The first chapter is a background introduction of the project, including its origin, significance and the structure of the report. The second chapter is a background introduction of the source text, including the brief introduction of the author and the version, main content as well as the analysis of the source text. The third chapter is on quality control, including the difficulties and solutions of the translation as well as the selection and description of the translation theories and methods adopted. The last chapter is a summary of the experiences and enlightenments from the translation and the problems to be solved. The third chapter is the most important in this report.
