A Report On The C-E Translation Of A Computer And A Method To Realize The Coupling Between Computers

With the rapid development of science and technology, all kinds of inventions emerge in endlessly, and more and more people and enterprises have realized the importance of patent protection. Global economic integration progress is accelerated and countries pay more attention to the development of intellectual property, which make that the number of domestic and international patent application significantly increased in recent years. In the process of applicating patent in foreign countries, translation is an extremely important link, the quality of which can be directly related to whether the patent can be authorized by Patent Office of various countries and to the stability of patent rights after being authorized. But nowadays,the talents and available resources in patent translation is shortage, so the author hope that, through her own practice,summarize the problems encountered in the process of translation practice and find out reasonable strategies and solutions, to provide reference for others.The report regard the translation of A Computer and a Method to Realize the Coupling Between Computers as research object. In the first chapter, the author takes a brief introduction to the translation material,and analysis the reason why choose the material as research object from two perspectives, then explore the language style of the project so as todetermine the principles of translation of such texts for accurate, smooth,formal specification. The second chapter is the preparation before translating. The structure and content of the original text is analyzed in detail, and a large number of parallel texts are read, so that the author can be familiar with the structure and expression of such texts to ensure the consistency of the style of the article. In the third chapter, the author describes in detail the whole process of translation. The whole translation process include the translation sequence arrangement to each part of the patent documents, namely, to translate the most specific and intuitive part firstly and then to translate relatively abstract part, then describe the function of each part of the patent documents and the corresponding adopted translation methods and some matters needing attention. The fourth chapter is the case analysis and the summary of translation methods. It is the focus of the whole report. The author sums up the translation methods from three aspects, the translation of vocabulary and idiomatic expression, which are the translation of long and difficult sentences, the representation of stylistic features. Finally, the author sums up this translation task, and express personal understanding of the translation of patent documents, and the limitations of the translation practice, to provide reference for the future translation practice.
