This is a translation report.The original text of this task is the first two chapters of Jae Sundaram's Pharmaceutical Patent Protection and World Trade Law.With the topic of the pharmaceutical patents,this book introduces the global context of intellectual property law and its evolution,and the implementation of the TRIPS Agreement in several developing countries.This report includes the research background of this translation project and its meaning,translation process,case analysis and summary.Pharmaceutical Patent Protection and World Trade Law is an informational legal text,which contains international organizations,international treaty clauses,terms and quotes.This is the textual feature,as well as the difficulties in translation process.In the light of “translation method of looking for equivalents”,the report introduces three typical translation methods,“the method of referencing professional literature”,“the method of defining contrasting”,“the method of locating translation by following the key clues”.By studying and translating this book,we can understand the pharmaceutical patent law at home and abroad better,it provides us reference for solving the of problems of pharmaceutical patent,and this task can also improve my translation ability.I hope that this translation report can enrich the content of "translation method of looking for equivalents",and provides guidance and reference for the translation of informational legal texts.
