Accident news conference is even a more important channel for the public to be informed truthfully about the situation and progresses about what had happened. There is a growing trend in interpretation in press conference. Being an influential interpretive theory in the 20th century, Interpretive theory has been introduced to China and has become a hot research topic in this field. With the increasing comprehensive power and expanding voice of China, more and more study has been done on Chinese to English news conference consecutive interpretation. However, the study of English to Chinese news conference consecutive interpretation has not been popular. In 2014, a missing flight MH370, Malaysian Airline, with 153 Chinese passengers on board has drawn global attention.Therefore the press conference has been chosen to be studied from an interpreting process perspective in interpretive theory to demonstrate the importance of sense unit transfer in English to Chinese news conference consecutive interpretation practice.
