| The economic globalization has become an irreversible historical trend, and it is necessary for the Chinese enterprises in various areas to obtain a better understanding of the foreign enterprises from more aspects, to actively participate in and furthermore to seek benefits for the country in the process of economic globalization. The investors of the company are usually concerned about the changes of company’s performance, hoping to be informed with the company’s profits.Annual reports refer to the company’s financial reports and other relevant documents of the entire accounting year, which usually include the balance sheets, the consolidated income statements, the cash flow statements and the shareholders equity statements. During the economic globalization process, the Chinese enterprises need to understand the situations of foreign enterprises sufficiently and timely. And the detailed interpretation of the annual reports of foreign enterprises is an effective way.The author writes this paper after participating in the translation practice of GE Healthymagination Annual Report. In the paper, the author summaries some translation methods and skills which could be applied into the translation process and finally improve the quality of the translation of annual reports. This paper is composed of four chapters. In the first chapter, the author gives a general introduction of the translation project, including the cmmissioned unit, the requirements and characteristics of the entrusted translation project. In the second chapter, the author gives a general introduction of the translation process, including the preparation and distribution of the translation process. In the third chapter, the author introduces the problems encountered in the process of the translation project and the related solutions adopted to solve such problems. And in the fourth chapter, the author introduces the experiences and lessons acquired from the whole translation project. |
