Practice Report—Report On E-C Translation Of The Financial News Under The Guidance Of Skopos Theory

With the development of the world economy, the economic exchanges between countries have been vigorously intensified. As one of the important ways for people to obtain information, the financial news coverage has gained more popularity than ever. It has become an essential channel to learn about the latest economic situation as well as analyze the relevant trend. As a result, the translation of the financial news coverage has become a vital way for China and the rest of the world to enhance their economic exchanges and business trade as well.The increase of the financial news readership has drawn higher demands for both the quality and the quantity of the translation of financial news coverage. Therefore, under Vermmer’s Skopos Theory, this translation report, based on the translation of thirteen financial reports from Huanqiu Media Group, analyzes the features of the English financial coverage in terms of lexical and syntactic level, and discusses the difficulties and the corresponding strategies in the translation process.
