A Practice Report Onthetranslationof The Introduction Of The Sun Island Tourism Resort

This paper is a translation practical report. The translation task is about the introduction of the Sun Island scenic spots. In this practical report, the author mainly studies the English translation in tourism text, and analyzes the translation preparation,the study of translation theory and translation problems related to tourism text in the translation process. The material of the Sun Island scenic spots has the characteristic of diversiform and professional. The author uses Reiss’ s text typology, Vermeer’s Skopos theory and Nida’s functional equivalence theory as the theoretical basis, for guiding the strategy of the preparation, mid-translation, post-translation to achieve the accurate translation of the Sun Island tourism text.This report is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is the introduction of the translation project, including introduction of the client, the translation task, and the request of the client. Chapter two mainly introduces the translation progress, involving not only the preparation before translation, arrangement of personas and the translation process but also the emergency planning and issues after translation. According to the analysis of the features of the text, the study of the parallel text and the translation request, the author has comprehensive understanding of the translation text, and makes a rapid, efficient and high quality translation. Chapter three is the key part of the practical report which enumerates the problems and corresponding solutions in the translation of specialized vocabulary and the common vocabulary, achieves a quick translation of complex sentences, passive sentences and attributive clauses. The author applies the translation theories into practice, finding solutions to translation problems.The forth chapter summarizes the lessons learned in the process of translation, inspires and notes problems remain to be solved. In this translation report, combining with translation experience, the author uses a variety of strategies in Sun Island scenic spot text translation.Through this practice of translation, the author defines the characteristics of tourism text, and translation methods of tourism vocabulary and sentence. The practicereport is a valuable experience for the author in the combination of theory and practice,and also gathers experience for later work and study. The author hopes that this report would provide some references for the translation study in relative fields.
