Investigation Of Present Situation On Teaching Chinese In Greece

In recent years, Chinese language is becoming gradually more popular in countries all over the world, among which is also Greece. As a consequence, increasingly number of people are interested in Chinese language and culture. In order to allow more people to understand the situation and the special characteristics of teaching Chinese language in Greece, and therefore improve it, the writer has investigated the teaching of Chinese language in two institutions.This paper takes the current situation of Chinese language teaching in Greece as the investigation core, using the institution “KAPATOU” and “GREEK-CHINESE FRIENDSHIP ASSOCIATION” as examples. This paper investigates the two institutions back round, the situation of students, teachers and materials that are being used in teaching, the methodology and content of teaching and the situation of teaching in classrooms. Furthermore, the writer also found some problems that exist in the teaching of Chinese in Greece, so this paper also examines the reasons for these problems and offers some suggestions in order to solve them, and improve the level of Chinese teaching in Greece.
