A Report On The Translation Of Creative Schools:the Grassroots Revolution That’s Transforming Education (Chapter Ten)

This translation practice report is based on the translation experience of the Tenth Chapter of Creative Schools:the Grassroots Revolution That’s Transforming Education. The purpose of this translation practice is to apply some of the translation techniques and methods learned during the MTI study into actual practice. After the summary on the translation process, this report is completed. This translation practice report mainly describes the whole translation process, and it also lists some translation methods and techniques which are frequently used in this translation practice.This report includes the introduction part, the body part and the conclusion.The relevant information, the application value and practical significance of translating this material is discussed in the introduction part.The body part is made up of three chapters.The first chapter is task description, which gives a detailed description of the translation task. It includes the background of this translation practice and the meaning of translating this book. Meanwhile, the characteristics of the translation material are also described.The second chapter is process description, which describes the whole process of the translation. It includes preparation before the translation, the specific steps of the translation and the proofreading.The third chapter is case analysis of the translation, which analyzes and summarizes some cases in the original book. In this chapter, under the guidance of Yan Fu’s three translation criteria and combining with some typical cases of the book, some translation methods and techniques that are frequently used in this translation practice are summarized. They are division, free translation, amplification and inversion. The definition, the application of each translation method and technique and the reason for using these translation techniques are discussed in this part.In the conclusion part, the whole translation process was reflected and the lessons learned during the translation process were summarized.
