The thesis is a reflective research report on the E-C translation of Racism and White Racial Identity extracted from the book Impacts of Racism on White Americans. In the source text the authors James M. Jones and Robert T. Carter start with the concept of racism, then the complexity of racism as well as its classification. They also introduce what is racial identity, white racial identity statuses and traits thereof. In the last part, the development and changing realities of racism are discussed. The source text is an analytical academic essay in which special terms and lexical collocations as well as long sentences are used often. This report makes a description of the translation task, analyzes problems in long sentence translation and word translation, and then adopts conversion, amplification and extension, division and order adjustment of sentence elements as solutions to them, so as to provide reference for those who are interested in racism in America or translation in this field.
