Purpose:Conducting a survey on the current situation of alienation of students in junior high school, based on the the results of the current situation and horticultural therapy, developing a intervention program to reduce the level of alienation and to verify its effectiveness.Method:Method One:Survey. Using random sampling method,5 classes of students in a middle school of Hangzhou city were randomly selected to investigate and study. A total of 223 students were selected. The survey instruments were "adolescent alienation questionnaire". Survey class as a unit, the use of a unified guide for collective testing, testing time is 10 minutes.223 questionnaires were issued,213 valid questionnaires were recovered and the effective rate was 95.5%.Method Two:Comparison group pretest-posttest experiment.24 students were divided into study group and control group.12 students in the experimental group were intervened, and the activity of horticultural therapy was carried out. The number of intervention activities in total was seven times,80 minutes a week, once a week.Before and after the intervention, the experimental group and the control group were measured with the measurement of "alienation of adolescent". At the end of the intervention, using the "horticultural therapy activities evaluation scale" "horticultural therapy activities with the table" and qualitative research material to assess the effect of group counseling.Conclusion:(1)The students overall alienation score is below 4 points; social alienation score is the highest, followed by is interpersonal alienation, environmental alienation is the lowest.(2) Horticultural therapy intervention has succeeded reducing the students’ level of the sense of alienation, the alienation of each dimension and the total score in the experimental group after the experiment were decreased.(3) It is feasible to reduce the sense of alienation of the first grade students by the intervention of Horticultural Therapy.
