An Investigation Analysis On The Chinese Usage Of Ethnic Chinese In HO Chi Minh City

China, as a neighbor of Vietnam, is the biggest economic partnership of Vietnam. Chinese, which is called the second largest foreign language, has played a very important role on economy, society, science, tourism and culture in modern Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh City is the center of economy, culture, science, tourism and international trade in South Vietnam. There are 520,000 ethnic Chinese in Ho Chi Minh City.50% of them are from Guangdong and 30% of them are from Teochew. Most of ethnic Chinese that speak Chinese are the middle-aged or the elderly in Ho Chi Minh City. Chinese is not so common among the young people. And some Chinese ethnic groups speak Cantonese. Some changes on the population and the coverage of Chinese usage have happened due to generation inheritance. In recent years, there are continuously strengthen exchanges and cooperation in economy, culture and other aspects between Chinese and Vietnam. The Chinese learning demand of ethnic Chinese is increasing day by day. The Chinese education has been well developed in Vietnam. The ethnic Chinese in Vietnam is the communication link between China and Vietnam. The research on the usage of Chinese and the effective Chinese teaching methods has a great impact on the Chinese promotion and the cultural cooperation between China and Vietnam.The research is aiming at the Chinese usage of ethnic Chinese. The objectives of the research are investigating the attitude toward Chinese and the inheritance of Chinese, making more ethnic Chinese in Vietnam attach more importance to the Chinese learning and use, predicting the possible problem on Chinese learning and use.The research is conducted with literature survey and questionnaire. It shows that the Chinese usage of ethnic Chinese in Ho Chi Minh City is influenced by politics, economy, culture and language. Also the researcher gave some advices about Chinese promotion based on the current problems. The advices are:strengthen the Chinese teaching cooperation between China and Vietnam, strengthen the economy cooperation between China and Vietnam, and strengthen the cultural communication between China and Vietnam.
