If attention is then summoned away from the cued location back to the fixation point, the location originally cued shows slower processing than other areas of visual field. This pheno- menon is generally believed that there are two types of mechanisms, based on the object and location based, and each phenomenon has empirical research supporting. But there is little inadequcy in previous studies. Such experiments can not rule out the impact of visual tracking. Also in studies about inhibition of return that based on position, investigators usually changed the color of an object to distinguish different objects.Taekwondo belongs to the skill of confrontational combat fighter project, changing tactics higher requirements for athletes. The research on Taekwondo techniques and tactics is rarely involved in the theory of psychology. This paper attempts to start from the perspective of cognitive psychology. This thesis aimed to discuss the duration characteristics of inhibition of return of taekwondo athletes by adopting the paradigm of inhibition of return so as to study its mechanism, find whether it had the consistency cross situations and people and try to provide reliable support for the combining between the theory of inhibition of return and practice.Object:(1)To explore the mechanism of the inhibition of return is based on the location or object.(2)To investigate whether the inhibition of return is stable across populations.(3)To investigate whether the inhibition of return is stable across scenarios. Methods: Subjects were 95 college students of one of Beijing sports institutions, whose average age was 21.49 ± 3.31 years old, and 96 Taekwondo athletes, average age of 18.68 ± 2.34 years old.Experimental tool, HP 450 notebook PC.Experiment 1, using Mixed 2 × 2× 2 experimental design, the within group variable was Cue feature(valid, invalid cues), and background feature(basic background,Taekwondo background). variables between the groups was crowd(college students, Taekwondo Athlete). Experiment 2, the method was same as first. Experiment 3, using Mixed 2 × 4 × 2 experimental design, the within group variable was cue feature(valid, invalid cues), and SOA(300ms,600 ms, 900 ms, 1200ms). variables between the groups was crowd(college students, Taekwondo Athlete).Result: No main effect or interaction was significant in first experiment. Experiment 2, main effect was significant for cues feature. main effect was significant for crowd. main effect was significant for background feature. The interaction between cues feature and crowd was significant. Experiment 3, main effect was significant for SOA and cue feature. The interaction between cues feature and crowd was significant. Conclusion: The results indicated that the mechanism of inhibition of return was based both on objectives and locations, and it had cross-situational and partially cross-people consistency. The taekwondo athletes should avoid kicking with 900 ms of SOA and they had better hit the same side in the actual combat.
