The translation material is selected from Chapter One and Chapter Ten of Food Politics: What Everyone Needs to Know, a book of Robert Paarlberg, who is an American scholar of food politics. Food Politics not only carefully examines and explains the important issues on current global food landscape but also gives lots of valuable advice for reference, which helps people improve their understanding of food politics.The translation report includes a description of translation material, translation process, analysis of translation cases and a summary of this translation practice. The first part gives a brief introduction to translation material and the author. Chapter One of the book provides an overview of food politics, including its definition, quality, actors and development. Chapter Ten explores the importance of agriculture in food politics. Detailed description of the relationship among agriculture, environment and farm animals is given in this chapter by means of questions and answers. Robert Paarlberg, an American writer, is a leading authority on food politics and his research focuses on the policy of global agriculture and environment. Meanwhile, he has published several books on agriculture.
