Under the background of global climate change, low carbon concept is known to every household. As the basic unit of society, family becomes the concept of low carbon on the micro level, so that the family carbon footprint becomes the international and academic focus. Previous research mainly advocates changing family original life style and consumption habits to reduce household carbon footprint, but it is difficult to implement in practical. Ecological migration changes people’s life space and style, leading to the change of traditional life pattern. Under this background, leading ecological immigrant to reduce household carbon footprint, tracking sustainable path of "low carbon migration" is not only feasible, but promoting easily.Based on the survey data,this thesis calculated the carbon footprint of the ecological immigrant family in Ningxia using Discharge Coefficient Method, and It has concluded that its characteristics about space, time, quantity, structure. Based on previous research experience, and combined with the actual situation of Ningxia ecological immigrant, the thesis studied their household’s carbon footprint on five aspects:geographical location,social environment,relocation time,family characteristics and demographic factors. The main factors affect the carbon footprint of immigrant families using SPSS and Excel to deal with the data. According to the results, the thesis has an comment about the model of the development of Ningxia "low carbon migration" and put forward suggestions. The results showed that:(1)The total amount of annual carbon footprint of the ecological migration families in Ningxia is 1.56×106kg;The proportion of Ningxia migration family’s structure of carbon footprint: Residential-carbon-footprint,food-carbon-footprint,travel-related carbon footprint, dress-related carbon footprint, daily necessities carbon footprints;The total amount of carbon footprint of the immigrant family who has moved is less than before the relocation. There are differences in amount and structure of immigrant families under different resettlement.(2)There are many factors have influence on the carbon footprint of immigrant family in Ninngxia. Though geographical location has an impact on the carbon footprint of the immigrant family, it needs to be integrated with economic, cultural and other factors. On the social environment, government policy becomes an critical factor to influence the carbon footprint of immigrant families. Moreover, the location of immigrant community and cultural characteristics are related to carbon footprint of immigrant family. Early removed families’ carbon footprint is higher than the lated relocation immigrant families. On the family characteristics, there is an inverse U relation between family size and carbon footprint. Family income, housing area and transportation level exhibit a positive correlation with carbon footprint, whereas family life style is negatively correlated with the carbon footprint. As for the family demographic factors, the age structure and ethnic characteristics have influence on the carbon footprint of the immigrant family. Immigrant occupation, education level of the head of household, and family sex ratio of immigrant families have little influence on the carbon footprint.(3)According to the analysis of the carbon footprint of the ecological immigrant family in Ningxia and its influencing factors, the thesis puts forward the "infrastructure low carbon migration" and "green consumption low carbon migration" two kinds of low carbon development model of immigration. It also proposes the corresponding countermeasures:①Improve immigrants quality, advocating "green consumption"lifestyle.②Develop household energy intensive.③Advocate sustainable and low carbon consumption patterns.④Arrange immigrant scientificly and develop infrastructure.⑤Innovative low-carbon technologies and use zero-carbon energy.⑥Introduce low carbon enterprise and construct low carbon buildings.⑦Strengthen efforts to publicize and promote sustainable consumption.
