With the popularity of Chinese learning, the Chinese Bridge-Chinese proficiency competition came to exist and became an important approach to popularize Chinese and Chinese culture because of the spread of this competition.In this essay, I choose the first and sixth Cultural test questions of the Chinese Bridge-Chinese Proficiency Competition for foreign students in Chinese as the object of my study. According to aspects in competition segment, question context, question type and response condition, I contrastive analyse the cross-culture communication of culture diversity and culture assimilation in the competition. And then I have some tips on Chinese teaching for foreign students.This thesis has five parts, the first part is introduction which indicates the purpose of this study, the situation of relative research, objects of this study and my methods of the research.The second part illustrates the competition summary, including the purpose of this competition, the current situation and development of this competition, and segment design of this competition.The third part elaborates the first and sixth Culture test questions of Chinese Bridge-Chinese Proficiency Competition in the final, which test includes character, geography, history, literature, art, custom, science achievement, and academic idea. After the analysis of question type and response condition, it is showed that the culture questions in the sixth competition which is added dictation and character writing are more comprehensive. In the meanwhile, the accuracy of response increased, which means the competition system and question is approaching to perfect and the level of candidates is higher.In the fourth part, firstly I analysis the cross-culture communication of culture diversity and culture assimilation in the competition, it is easily to find the culture diversity during the cross-culture communication. So it is hard for foreign students to learn and understand Chinese if they don’t understand the meaning of some culture meaning of some words. However, there are some common points in cross-culture communication like food, music and book, which have a good effect on culture assimilation. Teachers need to improve their culture accomplishment before they are teaching, and teach students in accordance of their aptitude with various teaching methods. As a student, he/she has to cultivate the interest of it, pay more attention on accumulate, and integrate theory with practice.The last part includes a summary of this whole thesis, and some suggestion of Chinese Bridge-Chinese proficiency competition system and test question. At the same time, it is summarized that there are some deficiency of this research.
