Analysis On Cultural And Linguistic Aspect

This is an interpreting practice report which takes the escort interpreting for inspection tour of experts from Foreign Affairs Ministry of Israel as an example. The thesis describes the background, the detailed process of the escort interpreting as well as the features of the task. In accordance with the cases from the practice, case analyses are separately assessed from cultural differences and linguistic aspects. It is discussed the influence on interpreting quality that caused by eating habits, idioms, name of Song poems. Also some methods that can enhance the cultural competence are proposed, that is, learning cross-culture communication knowledge, improving the awareness of cross-culture communication and studying encyclopedic knowledge. Meanwhile, through the analyses of using of terminologies and sentence expression, four strategies are put forward. The four strategies are omission, amplification, domestication and foreignization.
