Self-esteem as a core component of the system of college students’ mental health and personality development plays a very important role. Undergraduates’ Esteem overall level in the normal range, but still part of the Students’ self-esteem is at a low level. Low self-esteem level of college students own a skeptical or negative attitude is not correct and comprehensive view of their own. In this paper, group dynamics, people-centered counseling theory and interpersonal interaction theory as the theoretical basis, qualitative and quantitative research ways to explore unstructured Group Counseling Interventions of low self-esteem undergraduates.The four-year study were distributed to students in a university in Wuhan 280 questionnaires were returned 272 valid questionnaires. In the selection of 272 questionnaires out of self-esteem scale scores at a low level of self-esteem of the students’total 27, its interviews and screening. Low self-esteem to finalize the 16 undergraduate students were randomly divided into an experimental group with the control group, using Self-Esteem Scale prepared (SES) and self-Acceptance Questionnaire (SAQ) were measured before and after the two groups. The experimental group subjects performed a total of 12 times, three-month non-structured group counseling. Subjects in the control group without any intervention. After the Group of 12 group counseling subjective report of recordings, and community members were qualitative analysis to explore non-structured group counseling on self-esteem level of low self-esteem of college students whether significant intervention, as well as non-structured group counseling is how to play it effect.Research indicates:(1) About 90% of the students in the normal level of self-esteem, but there are still about 10% of the students at a low level of self-esteem.(2) Non-structured group counseling to improve the level of low self-esteem of college students has significant intervention effects. Not only has the immediate effect of the intervention as well as sustained intervention.(3) Non-structured group counseling has been able to significantly improve the self-esteem level of low self-esteem of college students, is instillation of hope, universality, imparting information, altruism, the corrective recapitulation of primary family group, development of socializing techniques,imitative behavior,interpersonal learning,group cohesiveness factor 11 co-acting effect factor.
