The Structure And Promotion Strategy Of College Students’ Employability And Employability From The Perspective Of Employers

In recent years, ethe employment of graduate problem has been focused by our society. The reason of that might be the employability of college students doesn’t match the needs of employers.Previous studies have shown that employability can bring a series of positive results of the work and life(Xie, Chen & Zhu,2013).However, most previous studies was made in the perspective of students or universities, and this research was made in the perspective of employersand 2000 advertisements which were published in the ZHILIAN.COM and 51 Job by ’global top 500, domestic top 500 and industry top 500’companies were collected. Content analysis method was used to coding and statistical analysed these advertisements. And we found that:1. College students communication skill is the most important general employability to employers, Followed by logical thinking, organizing ability, cooperation ability, whose proportion were more than 10%. Specifically,communication skill was presented 736 times, accounting for 13.53%、 logical thinking was presented 653 times, accounting for 12%、 organizing ability was presented 565 times, accounting for 10.39%、cooperation ability was presented 545 times, accounting for 10.02%. And these are the top four, which account for 45.94% of whole text quantity, in other words, which is nearly half of whole text quantity. This revealed that these four kinds of employability were most value among different industries, organization sizes or areas. The proportion of other employability is much less than the top four, so the general employability of college students consists communication skill, logical thinking, organizing ability and cooperation ability.2、 Chi-square test was used in this research, which reveal that there’s a significant difference among the general employability under the context of industries or organization sizes.But no significant effect of organization properties was found.3、 Considering of the importance of college students’ general employability (communication skill, logical thinking, organizing ability and cooperation ability) to their employment in the future, several strategies and suggestions were offered from the aspect of college education and personal development. College education:(1) Reform teaching mode, the class teaching should contain the education of general employability; (2) Improve the teaching content, offering specific courses related to the education of general employability; (3) Increase the evaluation index, quality evaluation and incentive mechanism of general employability should be esdablished; (4) Enrich campus life, a training platform of general employability should be offered to students; (5)、 Psychological Education, make full use of mental health center. Personal Development: (1) Develop their own general employability and other overall qualities; (2) Learning how to communicate with others and skills of communication; (3) Trying to campaign student cadres, and participate in campus cultural activities; (4) From school to career, Gaining experience of social practice; (5) To overcome the psychological barriers, to develop a good psychological quality.
