Career development refers to an experience and implement about an individual from birth to death during the life roles, job title and leisure activities. In this study, it represents maturity of career activities in the high school.This study using questionnaire methods for two prefecture-level city in Zhejiang Province for six schools a total of 1778 high school students to investigate. For t study the status quo level of high school students career development, internal and external factors and various factors affecting the career development mechanism under the background of new college entrance examination reform,. The obtained results are as follows:1. The overall level of high school students career development is medium. The level of high school students career development in terms of gender, grade, score, birthplace, the parents’ education level are different;2. The status of high school students self-identity, self-worth as internal factors have significant positive effects for individual career development;3. Self-identity status, self-worth through career adaptability and career hinder perception impact career development;4. With regard to schools, level of participation school career education through participation willingness as mediation role to affect high school students career development;5. Within the family, family socioeconomic status, parents’ expectations for high school students career development have a significant positive effect;6. In general, high school career development can be influenced from external and internal factors. Internal factors are mainly the status of self-identity and self-worth. External environmental factors including the degree of participation in the school career education, family socioeconomic status and parental expectations.
