By investigating and analyzing 230 employees with Job Satisfaction Questionnaire(Spector,1985), Organizational Commitment Questionnaire and Vocational Delay of Gratification Self-designed Questionnaires, this article not only discusses the current status of employees’ vocational delay of gratification and the influence of several demographic variables, but also explores the relationship between three variables of vocational delay of gratification, job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Rooted in these conclusions, it attempts to reveal the effects that vocational delay of gratification takes on employees’ job satisfaction and organizational commitment, in order to provide some useful suggestions on developing employees’ vocational delay of gratification and improving people management in companies. Key results of this research are as below:1. The self-designed questionnaire <VDOG> consists of four factors: job delay of gratification, career development delay of gratification, vocational delay persistence and delay characteristic, which has higher reliability and validity than sigle dimension structure.2. The level of employees’ vocational delay of gratification is high. In terms of employees’ vocational delay of gratification, significant differences exist on some variables such as gender, age, company size and position level. And there is no significant difference on education.3. There are significant positive correlations among employees’ vocational delay of gratification, job satisfaction and organizational commitment, and they also have significant predictive effects on each other.4. Vocational delay of gratification plays an important part of the intermediary role between job satisfaction and organizational commitment.
