Research On The Shape And Meaning Of Arabic Numerals In Logo Design

Number which is not only spreading all over the world as the written word, but also is unique form of unique and strong recognition of the symbol, is recreated and represent by different designers. Due to the development of science and technology, the society has entered the digital age. Therefore, the number and the modern life is closely related. It seems that everything which has associations with the number have the new taste of fashion. Number plays an important role in the text and is a special element of the text message. Compared with other written words, Arabic numerals provides greater convenience for people’s communication in the dissemination of information with the form of its unique and simpler shape and the feature of easier to remember. As a sign of a type of visual art symbol, logo is also the special way for people to communicate with each other. The logo design is a kind of the art form to for the purpose. It is not only requires to make creative thing with graphics or text elements, but also requires the rich connotation and visual sense of fashion. As a kind of common language which has no geographical restrictions and no language barriers, Arabic numerals has unlimited space for development in logo design application. This paper is a study on the shape and meaning of Arabic numerals in logo design.The topic research background, significance, methods,research status and main research contents are discussed in the introduction of this article.The thesis consists of three parts,from the basic theoretical concept introduces the Arabic numerals and sign in the first part. The second part is the core of this article. First of all, from two aspects of Arabic numeral symbol design principles and design form, to further elaborate the Arabic numeral logo design; The second focuses on "shape" and "meaning" in the Arabic numeral logo design, research idea is based on the analysis of the existing digital sign works, induces the numeral sign interpretative representation. "Shape" not only is the characteristic of the appearance of all things,also reflect design form beauty of external form; "Meaning" is that the people through their associations for various things including logo shape perception and cognition, is communication design of inner moral. "Shape" and "meaning" complement each other cannot be short of one. Under the unified principle of "shape" and "meaning",combining the author’s graduation design to summarizes the innovation methods for Arabic numeral logo design form and the meaning.The third part is that the author based on the research on the Arabic numeral logo design form and meaning of exploration and practice.
