The ability of oral language is the most direct and basic way to reflect the standard of a person mastering a second language. The purpose of Oral Chinese Teaching is to cultivate foreign language learners’ oral expression ability and the ability to communicate with others in Chinese. It’s not a long time since the oral Chinese class independence from the system of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, however, researchers have made some breakthroughs in the theoretical research, research of teaching materials, curriculum design, teaching method researches in the recent years. At the same time, we should also notice that there are lots of drawbacks in the traditional teaching methods as well as the usages of the new media. According to sociolinguists Hymes’ theory of communicative competence as well as the cognitive theory appeared in the 1980’ s, this paper puts forward the Practical Oral Chinese Teaching Method, which is the comprehensive methods based on practice and absorbed the communicative method, direct method, situational method, audio-lingual method, audio-visual method and so on. The method through a large number of imitation practice, form the habit of students’ oral Chinese, in order to achieving the purpose of improving the efficiency of the Oral Teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.There are six main parts of this thesis. The first one is introduction, which contains reviews of the related research results, purpose and significance of the topic, research methods, and difficulties; in the second part, I clarifies the main character and task of teaching Chinese as a foreign language; in the third part and forth part, I make an analysis of the shortcomings of traditional teaching methods and the applications of new medias, and comments on the resulting new problems. The fifth part, I put forward the Practice Teaching Method to resolve the above questions, which mainly includes reproduction of the scene teaching, debate speaking training and strict tests to investigate. In the sixth part, I summarize and reflect on this teaching method.
