A Research On The Relationship Between Father Involvement And Child’s Social Adaptation

Compared with mother, father play specific role on child’s social adaptation development. With 745 children from fourth grade to eighth grade and their fathers as the subjects, the present study investigated the current situation of father’s involvement and the its impacts on child’s social adaptation by investigated with the inventory of father involvement and social adaptation of children. Results showed that:1.Father involvement has significant difference in gender, whether only child and father’s time with child.2.Father’s attitude has important influence on father involvement. Father who realized the significance of father involved in their child’s upbringing Since his wife is pregnant, is significant positively related to the level of father involvement. The man who agree with man’s ability to rising children is less than women,is significant positively related to the level of father involvement.3.Mother’s attitude has important influence on father involvement.The wife often promote the emotional communication between the husband and children,is significant positively related to the level of father involvement. The wife often against her husband for his penalty decision,is negatively related to the level of father involvement.4.The level of father involvement Increased with the increase of the satisfaction father-son relationship.5.The level of father involvement from the view of fathers themselves is significantly higher than from their children.6.Child social adaptation has significant difference in gender, whether only child, registered permanent residence,grade, family type, family main educators, father-son relationship satisfaction evaluation.7.The more time father involved in child’s life, the better child’s social adaptation.8.The level of father involvement from the view of fathers themselves is significantly related to child’s social adaptation.The level of father involvement from the view of child is also significantly related to child’s social adaptation.Conclusion:The father self-assessment and evaluation of the father of the child involved in education levels are significantly different, the former is significantly higher than the latter. Time participation of fathers in child rearing of children’s social adaptation has a significant impact, the more time fathers to participate in child rearing, and social adaptation of children better. Father involved in education and social adaptation of children there is a correlation, the higher the level of education of father involvement, the higher the level of social adaptation of children.
