| Taohuawu New Year Paintings originated from the Song Dynasties, which have hundreds of years of history up to now. It not only accumulated rich cultural connotations, but also has extremely high artistic values. This paper regards Taohuawu New Year Paintings as the main research object. Firstly, it elaborated its craft characteristics, development status and elements systemization. Of which, the development status concerning New Year paintings was written as per field survey contents. In New Year Paintings systemization part, the change trends such as modeling and application were summarized via extracting and analyzing elements(character faces, clothes and ornaments) of Taohuawu New Year Paintings in different periods. Secondly, it presented the enlightenment of Ukiyoe to modern design representation of Taohuawu New Year Paintings, and re-designed elements adopting graphic design technique. The final part of this paper conducted experiment on the designed graphs, and applied modern decorative paintings and illustrations to decoration, attempting to explore the modern design representation of its elements. |
