A Report On The Translation Practice Of Drilling Engineering Handbook

With the rapid development of Chinese economy,scientific translation plays a significant role in communication between China and foreign countries.As a branch of scientific translation,petroleum translation embodies the same features of correctness,objectivity,high logicality and specialty.Improving the quality of petroleum translation has practical significance.Based on the translation of drilling engineering handbook,this report focuses on description and analysis of the translation process and exploration of translation theory and skills for scientific translation.This report consists of 4 chapters.Chapter 1 is a brief introduction of the text,research objectives and significance.Chapter 2 is a description of translation process,and illustrates Functional Equivalence Theory as the guide theory.Chapter 3 is case analysis,including typical cases and translation skills used,problems types and corresponding solutions.Chapter 4 concludes the whole report and introduces the innovation points,deficiencies and findings,and puts forward new requirements to translator herself.
