Study On The Development And Changes Of Agriculture In Qianbei During The Ming And Qing Dynsties

Qianbei just as its name implies to the north of Guizhou, which is one of the earliest agricultural development in Guizhou. Before Ming Dynasty, this area was influenced by some factors, such as topography and population, so its agricultural development was relatively slow. However, from Ming and Qing Dynasties, with large population inflexed in Qianbei, advanced production technology and new crops were introduced into this area, the agriculture got unprecedented development. Not only the type of crops and the planting area has increased, but also the quantity and quality has been improved. To provide some cases for the research of other areas and to provide some historical experience for the development of agriculture, this paper chooses the development of agriculture in Qianbei during Ming and Qing Dynasties as the research objects to restore the historical features of agricultural development, to explore and summarize the experience and revelation from the agricultural development in this area during the historical period.The paper is mainly divided into the following several parts to discuss:The first chapter is about the background of Qianbei agricultural development in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, including the natural condition, the change of administrative division, and the trajectory of the agricultural development in this area before Ming Dynasty.The second chapter mainly explains the external cause of Qianbei agricultural development in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It includes two parts; one is about immigration and the natural increase of population changed population. And the other is about land reclamation. The growth of population and land reclamation provided the necessary conditions for the development of agriculture in this period.The third and fourth chapters is the paper’s main content.Tt anslysises the agricultural development experience、technical progress of agricultural development and the crop of planting in Qianbei area.And these both become favorable conditions in the development of agriculture such as the improving farm tools、the progress of production technology, and paying attention to irrigation and water conservancy.Food crop in this area mainly includes rice, corn, wheat, sweet potatoes,and so on,and the economic crop mainly include cotton、dyestuff、tobacco and the rising in zunyi’s skillworm in this period. The Qianbei’s agricultural development changed its agricultural planting structure to a certain extent. At the same time it also enriched Qianbei’s farming.The fifth chapter is a conclusive chapter,It discusses the influence of Qianbei’s agriculture development and social change during the Ming and Qing Dynasties,and the effects of Qianbei’s agricultural development in the Ming and Qing Dynasties from the economy 、 general mood of society and natural environment mainly.The last part is the conclusion part.It summaries of the development of agriculture in Qianbei area during Ming and Qing Dynasties.It gets some enlightenment for Qianbei’s agricultural economy nowdays from it in Ming and Qing Dynasties.
