This report is based on the author’s interpreting practice on the “3rd Silk Road Economic Belt Cities Cooperation and Development Forum” which was held in Xinjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center on June 24 to 25, 2015. Through a series of preparation before interpreting, including getting familiar with the timetable and arrangement of this forum, remembering the translation of terms and special phrases, sight-interpreting practices and reviewing note-taking symbols of interpretation and so on, the author carried out this interpreting practice and got a record. After the forum, the author wrote down both the Chinese and English texts according to the record and made an analysis and correction of her interpretation practice. Also, the author used the Interpretive Theory of Translation to analyze her practice and improved her ability in comprehending, analyzing, summarizing, interpreting and expressing.In this practice, the author’s main difficulty is not having enough time to interpret all the message conveyed by the spokesman. Second, the author needs to make some explanation on some specific spots. In this report, the author will take some cases of her interpretation this time for example to show how she solve these problems with the interpretation skills of omitting surplus information, combining similar message and making explanation under the guidance of the Interpretive Theory of Translation.And the author hopes this report can be helpful to those who are interested in interpretation.
