In September 2013, President Xi Jinping proposed the strategy for building the Silk Road Economic Belt, which has gain active response from all countries and cities in Asia and Europe. Urumqi is a crucial gateway and hub city on the Silk Road Economic Belt in China, so it is Urumqi’s responsibility to play a leading role in responding to the strategy. Under this background, on July 24 th 2015, The 3rd Silk Road Economic Belt Cities Cooperation and Development Forum was held in Urumqi. The aim of this forum is to strength the communication and cooperation among cities, share development experience, boost the economy of Silk Road. There are 11 foreign cities’ mayors, specialists, scholars, entrepreneurs and relevant groups attending this forum. During the forum, the task of the author is an Chinese-English interpreter of Yu Changyun commissioner.In the first part of this report, the author gives a brief introduction to the background of The 3rd Silk Road Economic Belt Cities Cooperation and Development Forum; the second part mainly talks about the preparation the author has made for the interpreting task; the third part mainly focuses on the Interpretive Theory of Translation; the fourth part is guided by the Interpretive Theory of Translation, the author uses omission translation, creative translation and adding to analyze the cases from interpreting practice; in the fifth part, the author draws some conclusion and enlightenment in the interpreting practice.
