Translation is a practical activity which expressed the source language by the target language. It is the necessary bond that makes different people speaking different languages understand each other. It is also an activity across different languages, different countries and different cultures. With the increase of China's international influence, interpreting plays a more and more important role in the understanding and communication of people from different countries. This paper is based on the interpreting practice for Cynthia Leenerts, the professor of the East Stroudsburg University. The material is one episode The Spring Festival of the Chinese documentary Touring China. The goals of this interpreting are to let the foreigners know about the traditional Chinese festival and understand the Spring Festival complex of the Chinese people. What's more important is to spread Chinese culture. In the interpreting practice, the interpreter uses the interpretive theory as the instruction. The interpreting of the practice is not limited to the literal meaning but intended to grasp the integrity and consistency of the words. To make the interpreting better, some translating methods including addition, syntactic linearity and reinventing sentence structures are used. The aims of the paper are to summarize the interpreting experiences, solve problems and improve the interpreting capabilities.
