Critical incidents in military academy mean those emergencies that affect or even damagethe normal order in military academy. Psychological crisis is a mental state of unequlibriumcaused by critical incident. Military cadets are going through the most important transitionperiod in life and possess relatively weak withstanding capability against psychological trauma.To improve mental health of cadets as well as the education quality of military academy, it is ofgreat significance to conduct researches on psychological crisis intervention for cadets.With survey of cadets who have undergone crisis incidents, our study finds it that youngcadets could be in crisis state post crisis incidents, some might be in serious state and needspecial attention. Cadets’ psychological crisis degree is significantly related to their type-Dpersonality, core self-evaluation and coping, among which the relation between coreself-evaluation and psychological crisis is the most significant one. Based on characteristics ofcadets’ psychological crisis, requirements of crisis interventions and specific situations inmilitary academy, we have conducted a primary analysis on crisis intervention strategies andconstruction of crisis intervention systems. As to intervention strategies, we think both pre-eventpreparatory intervention and post-event reactive intervention should be included. Pre-eventpreparatory intervention is emphasized on enhancing mental health quality of cadets anddeveloping positive campus atmosphere. Post-event reactive intervention should be conducted onseveral strata according to degrees of trauma experienced by cadets, including generalintervention, group intervention and individual intervention. Construction of crisis interventionsystem is also an important element of psychological service in military academy, whichincludes set-up of leading organization, personnel training and establishment of workingprocedures. The last chapter of this thesis provides a detailed introduction of an interventioncase.Three innovations are made in this thesis, discovery of the significant effect of coreself-evolution on psychological crisis, provision of a systematic invention strategy for youngcadets against critical incidents in military academy and analysis on construction of crisisintervention system in military academy.
