Study On Downtown Area Itinerant Vendor Management In Yangjiang City

This paper describes a detailed study of administrating peddlers in Yangjiang City.Administrating peddlers in the city has been a newly emerged problem of urbanization. Asmodernization, industrialization and urbanization continues to increase, and population isgrowing, there are a growing population joining in peddling on the grounds of their old age,poor education, and cultural factors. At the meantime, the low cost of peddling and the greatdemand of the market have caused the problem that more and more people are chasing highprofit through illegal means, which has led to the complicated situation of administratingpeddlers. As a result, more and more conflicts arise between city inspectors and peddlers forthe recent years, the administration of peddlers has come under assault and are graduallyfalling into a dilemma.Through the research of peddling problems at present in Yangjiang City, this paperdescribes and analyzes its causes, and tries to provide solutions to these problems, whichincludes introducing sophisticated and experienced management home and abroad,transferring the simple and crude management strategies into people oriented managementstrategies, making more people into administrating peddlers. According to the social conflicttheory, this paper puts forward that the source of conflict lies in the social benefit imbalance,which can better solved by introducing multiple management involving city inspectors,peddlers and citizens.
