Research On The Problems Of Current Villagers’ Self-governance In Ruralareas

Villagers’ self-governance has been carried out over30years in the rural areas ofChina. With the implementation of villagers’ self-governance, peasantries’ attentionsto village affairs and the desire to participate in primary democracy building are risingconstantly. But，the current villagers’ self-governance of the new countryside stillfaces many problems. This will seriously affect the further development andimprovement of villagers’ self-government. This topic，“Research on The ProblemsOf Current Villagers’ Self-governance in Rural Areas--Taking Y Village of X TownFor Example”，is designed to find out the current problems existing in villagers’self-government,and to put forward the countermeasures for solving these problemsby taking Y village of X town as a case.This paper mainly adopts the research methods of case analysis. Based on themarxist theory, the governance theory, the civil society theory and the theories ofvillagers’ self-governance, the paper analyzes the situation of villagers’self-governance at Y village under the background of new rural construction. And itpoints out some new problems existing in villagers’ self-governance of China. Forexample, the weakness of the economic basis, the difficulty to implement “fourdemocracies”, the lack of subjects to villagers’ self-governance, the alienation ofvillagers autonomy, and so on. And, it puts forward some countermeasures to solvethe problems, such as developing the rural economy, improving the democraticmechanisms, straightening out two kinds of relationships, cultivating the newautonomous subjects, and so on.
