Research On Marx’s Theory Of Civil Society And Its Development

The study on civil society theory is always around the relationship betweensociety and country. The Development of civil society theory can be divided intothree stages: the first stage is the civil society in classical sense; the second stage isthe civil society theory in the modern sense; the third stage is the civil society incontemporary sense.This essay mainly discusses the civil society theory in the modern sense. Themodern sense of civil society is first put forward by Hegel and perfected by Marx.Many thinkers had investigated the problem of civil society before Marx. So Marxfirstly gave a detail study of the study results of the former thinkers and furtherexpounded his theory of civil society and got a correct understanding and use of theconcept of civil society based on the study results of former thinkers. In the process,he found the basis of the entire human development history, and the process is alsothe creation process of Historical Materialism. Marx thought civil society is not setin stone and it got new meaning by society development, so he understood the civilsociety according to the changed historical conditions. We can think this theorymainly experienced three stages of development:the emergence stage, thedevelopment stage and the sublimation stage. The theory started from the field ofphilosophy and gave a deep analysis of political economics, and finally made rise tophilosophical level. So this is a historical process of developing and perfectingconstantly.Marx’s civil society theory laid a solid theoretical basis for later related researchof the western scholars, especially for Gramsci, Habermas and other western marxist,and they gave a deep study of civil society based on Hegel and Marx’s theory andtheir theory is in line with Marx’s civil society theory, so their theory can be seen as the enrichment and development of Marxist theory of civil society.With the development of reform and opening up, the academic circles in ourcountry gives a extension and development of Marx’s civil society theory based onour national condition and the civil society of western scholars. The civil societytheory research is of great significance for the development of our society, it not onlyguides the direction of our country market economy system, but also benefits theconstruction and development of a harmonious society in our country. Therefore, weshould pay great emphasis on this problem.
