| Vietnam and Laos are medium-sized nations but important neighboringnations for China as well as other countries in this region. According to theofficial announcement of current governments of these two nations,Vietnam-Laos relations are defined as the special relationship.The paper will start with the reasons why I chose the title and basicinternational theories to support this paper. Based on the traits of regionalhistory, the paper will clarify the main line of the special relations in accordanceto three time point: the first two Indochina wars and the Reform in1986,explain the deep and essential inside of it from perspective of inter-party andinternational relations, and emphasize the role of Vietnam as a leader ofcivilization. In the meanwhile, we cannot ignore others factors such as influenceof geography and people of both sides of the boundary. Finally, it will deal withthe essential nature of this special relationship from different angles, which isthe essence of this paper. |
