Since the reform and opening-up, because of the economic development, social mobility, modern consciousness’s rapid access, as well as the deep involvement of state power, China’sfamily structure and intergenerational relationship have a new fundamental changes, and thischange is still in progress and gradually imbalances. But under the background of urban-ruralintegration strategy, due to the large number of inputs and the national social and economicdevelopment, land consolidation and circulation produce a huge "differential rent". Therelations of distribution among the interests behind, making different intergenerational subjectwon their respective interests, and affect the family interests’ structure to some extent, leadingto the change of family structure and family intergenerational relationships, differentgenerations tend to be equal and democratic. This study takes LH community of Sichuan province as an example, throughsemi-structured interviews and non-participatory observation, we try to have an empiricalresearch of this community’s political, economic, cultural, and community construction.Under the specific background of urban-rural integration, based on the analysis and summaryof the nature of family and family intergenerational relationship, study and discuss therelationship between the urbanization and the family, and provide theoretical explanation ofsome problems in the transition at the family level for our country at present. At the same time,by describing the different generation subjects’ changes in the process of urban and ruralintegration, present the changes of Chinese family nature and family intergenerationalrelationships, namely, the change of intimate relationship. Finally, around the intimaterelationship changes, put forward the argument of "defend families", points out thedevelopment direction of China’s urbanization.Through the investigation and analysis, the following main conclusions of this research:Urban and rural integration strengthen the individuality of residents, at the same time make the intergenerational relationship even thinner. In this background, around the family internaldistribution of land interests and the interests’ distribution inside of the community,"intimate"family relationship began to change,"close" family relations gradually formed: between theyoung and middle-aged adults, between the middle-aged and old have become independentwith each other, dependence reduce, cooperation relationship is more obvious. On this basis, the family intimate relationship changes have three levels of significance. Firstly, the familydemocracy with Chinese characteristics emerge; Secondly, the family intergenerationalrelationship’s enhancement; Thirdly, strengthen the individual’s free choice rights, guaranteethe social and economic development. Finally, based on the above analysis and conclusions, the relationship between theurbanization and the family is discussed. What on earth should be the future of the Chinesefamily? As the most stable unit of China’s social structure, family can give person material, spirit and so on, provide security of many aspects. Under the background of family tending tobe core and family function weakening, family relationship’s development is not only thefamilies’ internal problems, also is a matter of the urbanization’s direction and the harmoniousdevelopment of social economy in China. Ideal urbanization should be a moderateurbanization, urbanization under the new collectivism, that is, give full play to the families’role in the urbanization process, make the interests of individual security, at the same time, encourage individuals struggle in the market, this urbanization can buffer and avoid risk, achieve the urban-rural integration really.
