Urban Traffic Congestion Problems And Countermeasures Research

With the rapid development of social economy, more and more families have the ability to own private vehicles, especially in recent years, car prices fell sharply, it’s no more a luxury consumption,cars began to fly into the common people’s home. At the same time, the traffic congestion began to arise frequently. Traffic congestion as a modern social phenomenon, is from the few super city to many Second Tier Cities and to some small and medium-sized cities.As the most important industrial and commercial city central China, traffic congestion began to be serious in recent years. In 2011, motor vehicles of changsha city exceeded million mark, in which the proportion of private cars is increasing rapidly。In changsha, private car ownership reach 1.44 million at the end of 2014, every six people owning a private car on average. In the rush hour, the main traffic speed only about 20 km per hour on average, congestion degree is quite high.The large car ownership and serious road traffic situation putting forward higher requirements for us to control traffic congestion.According to Hunan province traffic management strategy " big cities sovle the problem of congestion, small city solve the problem of disorder", changsha will begin to carry on some governance in relevant section in a planned way. Strictly speaking, changsha’s traffic management level did not reach a satisfactory degree, there still are many we need to do, we can do. Changsha as a rising star, it have a long way to go in city traffic management, urban traffic congestion management is a tough task and we need more practice.In this paper, the writer pointed out the characteristics and the reason of congestion, just trying to find countermeasures of traffic congestion in changsha. The first chapter of this article is introduction, the second chapter is the analysis of congestion, including a general introduction of changsha traffic and congestion, the third chapter is analysis of the causes of urban traffic congestion, the fourth chapter introduced successful experience of city traffic, the fifth chapter is to explore countermeasures of traffic congestion.
