Research On The Local Government’s Response To The Network Public Sentiment

In the Internet Age, large numbers of netizens’views converge into network public opinions. The traditional media and the network public opinions interactively promote each other and thus form the public opinions that reverse the government administration. A good many of network public sentiment events indicate that, the local government is usually passive in response to the billowy network public opinions, with strength only enough for defence but not to hit back. In this case, the government drives itself into dilemma and also damages its own image.This paper will take Zhuhai for example, mainly uses the document analysis method and the case analysis method, collecting the topic-related domestic and foreign historical research achievements through internet and bibliographic searches to lay a solid foundation for the paper research.In addition, analyze the current typical cases in Zhuhai to draw experience and lessons upon the insufficiencies in the Zhuhai governments’network public sentiment responsiveness, to provide the feasible suggestions and measures accordingly.This paper will start from the network public sentiment correlation theory on the basis of the coping theories both domestic and foreign. Then analyzes and finds out problems in the Zhuhai’s current situation of the network public sentiment responsiveness, and comes up with the effective improvement measures conclusively. The methods include, firstly, build up a sound network public sentiment coping mechanism. Secondly, promote the coping abilities of leader cadres. Thirdly, strengthen positive guidance to seize the initiative. Fourthly, deepen the reforms in an all-round way and transform the governing philosophy.The local government is discussed as the main body in this paper, which is targeted and feasible. This paper is able to help the local government coping with the network public sentiment better, creating a preferable environment for social opinions, providing scientific decision-making, and accelerating the economic and social development. The problems and deficiencies mentioned are prevalent in Chinese governments at all levels, hoping to have instructive effect and certain reference value on other local governments.
