In recent years, with the improvement of people’s living standard and quality, the security problem of food quality is concerned by consumers increasingly. But a serious of food safety accidents have taken place, such as the tainted milk crisis and lean meat powder, which push the problem of food safety at public concern. Therefore, this article attempts to Jinan as the breakthrough point, in a city the present situation of food safety regulatory perspective for the current problems existing in the supervision of food safety and the corresponding countermeasures.Food safety involves many links, many departments, food safety and food safety supervision in China started relatively late, the current food safety supervision work difficult. In order to solve the food safety regulatory problems, further build up perfect food safety supervision system, this paper takes Jinan as an example, using literature analysis, empirical study and system analysis, on the basis of the theory of combed the Jinan food safety regulation, in Jinan on the current situation of food safety regulation, on this basis, combining the successful experience of other cities of food safety regulatory governance and Jinan cities, analyzed the Jinan food safety regulatory problems and the reasons, and puts forward the improvement measures. The article concluded that Jinan food safety regulatory system has obtained certain achievements, but there are still imperfect laws and regulations, food safety regulatory inefficiency, food safety standards are not clear, and low degree of public participation and supervision. The causes of these problems are mainly the illegal cost is low; The failure of the government regulation in the market mechanism; "Three small" industry of small workshops of existence and the existence of local protectionism.
