The Research Of The Social Adaptation Of Ecological Migration In Ningxia Hui Nationality

Ecological problem and poverty are the bottleneck for economic and social development in Xihaigu area of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. In order to improve the regional ecological environment and accelerate the development of the area, promote economic and cutlrual prospertiy, the local government has implemented a large-scale and planned ecological immigrant project. This paper aims to investigate how well the ecological migration community in Ningxia Hui society adapt to the new enviroment. Sepcifically speaking, this paper, based on ecological anthropology and resettlement sociology, has made research on the Hui migration community’s means of livelihoods, lifestyles and social relations. Its research findings indicate the level of social adaption is proportional to adaption time; of custom and culture adaptation, social relations adaptation and livelihood adaption, immigrants’ livelihood adaptation is the foundation of their social adaptation, which determines the overall situation of social adaptation; the degree of individuals’social adaptation is different, namely, the stronger the individuals’ self-development condition and ability are, the stronger their social adaptation ability is and vice versa.
